The Channelmag PM flow meter is a special flowmeter suitable for measurement of flows in partly filled pipes. The unit works as a conventional electromagnetic flow-meter, but by combining velocity- and level-measurement, it is capable of measuring flows in partly-filled pipes correctly, unlike standard electromagnetic flowmeters. The velocity sensors are attached to a "spanner", which allows the meter to be installed in different sized pipes. This design allows the meter to be installed without large scale pipe-cutting and difficult flange connections. It is sufficient if a technician can get inside a pipe to "release" the spanner. It will shape itself to fit the internal diameter of the pipe, thus fixing the sensors in place. The system can offer accuracies as good as 2% of reading value.
